Ryan's First day at CarMax

all dressed up in his shorts and polo for day #1 of the greatest job on earth
Ryan started his NEW JOB on Tuesday. We have kept it kinda quiet so we didn't jinx anything but...we're stoked!
Ryan started interviewing over a month ago now. On the first day of interview Ryan met with three different people and each interview went great. The final guy wasn't in the office yet and Ryan had to head to work so they said, "we'll get in touch soon"
Well, a week later Ryan went back to meet up with this guy, Andy, interviewed with him and the rest of the management staff, so by the end of day two of interviews he had met with everyone at that store. And it ended with ,"we'll get in touch soon". Seriously? Talk about a lesson in patience.
During this interview process it turned out that we didn't even know what position he was interviewing for. This mystery went on throughout the whole process too...more patience.
On Friday of that same week we got a call last minute to come in on Monday to interview but we were going out of town so it got pushed to July 6th. Ryan was interviewing with the regional VP. To this day we still don't know why he had to interview for the regional VP, but he did, and it went well, just as the past 8 interviews had gone ;) Instead of a job offer at the end, it ended with, "we'll be in touch soon"
Finally, on Thursday the 8th around 4pm we finally heard that the job was officially being offered to him! We were so excited for Ryan. He needed this job and he needed to get out of his old job.
Well, Ryan put in two week notice Friday morning at 7:30am and his looser of a boss had him leave the office by 9am. This guy summed up how ridiculous these past three years have been by not even shaking Ryan's hand. The boss guy (Tal) walked out of the room as Ryan walked in and hand his supervisors tell Ryan that he was to get his things and leave. The only good news is that he will be paid through the 23rd since he put in his notice how he was supposed to.
Papers were signed on Friday at CarMax and we spent the weekend searching for khaki shorts without pockets that weren't too short and plain polo shirts since his size is back ordered....but come Tuesday we were ready to go and he has loved it every day since!
Hoping this is the company we can stay with for a loooong time!

Growing Boys!

We just went to the Dr. this morning for Jake's 15 month and Tyler's 3 year appointment.

Jake measures up at
31 1/2 inches (50-75%)
22 lbs (10-25%)
Tyler is coming in strong at
39 1/2 inches (75-90%)
33 lbs (50-75%)

Both boys had to get shots today. We weren't expecting Tyler's but he didn't even flinch! So proud of him.

Jake got his two shots and cried a little but once a sucker was in his mouth he was fine.

A Busy Saturday

Painting, swimming, and playing :) Doesn't get much better!

Playing with Grandma & Grandpa Denos in Vegas

Cute little Boys

We got some new matching shirts (thanks great-grandma) and had to try to get some pictures. Nothing worked super well with grumpy boys...but they sure are cute still ;)

I take it back...

so I may have a mild case of bursitis in my right knee from my measly three days of jogging.

guess my knee wasn't quite ready yet.

oops!

Surprising myself

the past three mornings I have been able to get out for a walk at 7:30 am.

the first day I knew I wanted to try to jog (b/c I'm sick of the "last 15lbs." I still have to lose from Jacob)

my goal was to make it down to Mountains Edge Pkwy...about 1 mile.

I got there and by the time I did I was in a rhythm so I jogged another 1/2 mile on the way back and finished with a walk.

The next day, I jogged the first mile and walked the second after Tyler kept telling me to stop running because he didn't like going fast- random.

Today we took a different route, I got to jog some and walk some but I've done it- 3 days in a row eventhough it's at least 90 degrees by the time we get started!

I plan on keeping this up- here's to tomorrow!
