My kid would never...
I think I've only said this a handful of times. But I really thought Tyler would never poop in the bathtub. I mean, come on- who does that?
Well, last night I was trying to give Jacob a wash down on my bathroom counter (yes, he really hates his baths so much still that I bathe him like a newborn) while Tyler was playing in the tub right behind me.
I walked out the door for a second and I came back to find Tyler standing up, peeing in the tub. Gross! I told him now we had to shower off to get clean. Our tub drains really slow so I finished dressing Jacob and hear Tyler say "eww". I turn around thinking he found something dirty- but no, he made something dirty.
There, in the tub, hiding under the bubbles was poop! Seriously?! I grabbed a ziplock I had under my sink, got rid of the nasty and tried not to laugh too much. I can't believe he did that. It made me laugh- even though it was nasty. I swear he does stuff on purpose to try to gross me out.
We'll see what comes next on my list of "my kid would never..."

The day has come...
well, maybe?! We just got our first round of random comments...which have been deleted.
I am seriously considering going private. Not that anyone besides family really reads this- but send me your email (and pray I can figure out how to make this private). Then we'll keep posting the cuteness :)

He got more shots today and is currently sleeping off the pain. Poor buddy! Oh- and we got the official go-ahead for some solid foods. Here we go!

4 Months
The second kid has been so different for me. I love and adore him all day long, but I can't think of the little things he does. The poor boy is along for the ride...wherever Tyler (or mom on occasion) decides.
Jacob is great at running errands. Sweet boy. Smiles for everyone.
Jacob loves his big brother. He lights up whenver Tyler says, "hi buddy"
He can sit up on the couch pretty well.
He takes at least one, really long nap for me each day- and two smaller ones
Jacob can roll over, but doesn't choose to very often
He is way too huge for the bassinet but the transfer to sharing a room with Tyler isn't quite done.
He used to sleep through the night- now he wakes up every 3 hours!
He weighs about 17-18 lbs.
Jacob is in size 3 diapers because I got sick of him outgrowing the diapers I had before we finished the pack
He has tried cereal in an effort to get him to sleep...didn't work so we're waiting
Jacob has been in a warm spring, to mission viejo, to a wedding, to sacramento, spent the night in a hotel, on a long road trip, and to many parks.
There really aren't words for how wonderful (and amazing and tiring) being a parent is. I know we all have rough moments, days, months, maybe even years during child rearing- but lately I've been blessed to have the good moments brought to my mind. I love my family. I love that Jacob is now a part of it. We never knew what we were missing!
Weekend Project
We had some fun today with Ryan. We decided to refinish our chairs to match our new table.

Tyler loved buying the supplies and helping daddy out.
Ryan worked hard...and breathed all the fumes for us :) You can see just the sawdust and black spray paint all over him.

Free at last!!!
Tyler has been without the "binky" for 5 days now...and not one whine out of him!
We lost his pacifier when I went to my sister's for a visit. I was all stressed out because I really did lose it- but he napped without it, then slept without it....then I just didn't mention it and he's doing great!
One more to-do checked off the list. Next, potty training!

Great Grandma and Grandpa Denos
Last Friday Great Grandma and Great Grandpa Denos came to visit on their way through town. We haven't seen them in about 18 months. They just recently returned from their second mission for our church. This time they served in Hawaii. Sounds like fun- but I know they put in A LOT of work.

This was the first time they got to meet Jacob and they haven't seen Tyler since he was a baby. We got to show them our house too. So much has changed in 18 months!
Later that night we got together at Heather's house for a family dinner. We had the Waites (obviously), my little family, and the Burnhams all together.
It sure was fun to see everyone!
