Ryan and I just finished laughing hysterically in the hall waiting for Tyler to come out of his room...since he decided that he wants to sleep in his big boy bed tonight...but he never came out. He is fast asleep!
Tyler helped me move around his room today and I guess that was the ticket to get him interested in giving it a shot! He is such a funny little boy. I sure hope that bed rail works and he makes it through the night being the big boy that he is :)

Viva Las Vegas!
We're home. It's good to be back with dad. Here are some fun and/or funny moments from our time in Sacramento.
1. The flight there. Tyler had been coughing and just all around icky for the few days before our flight. He would cough so hard he'd puke and fun stuff. The Dr. gave him the all clear so I wasn't worried...until final descent into Sacramento...when he puked all over me and the seat he was on! Thank goodness it wasn't a full flight or else there would have definitely been puke all over someone else too. The dang flight attendants didn't do a thang- so I left them a big ol' pile of stinky wipes after I tried to clean up the both of us. We were surrounded by sweet people that offered everything they had around to help us out though- including a bag to put the super-nasty puketastic clothes in. Oh- did I mention that there weren't any barf bags in our entire row?! What an experience.
2. Staying up late and sleeping in. Although I'm not usually a fan of Tyler staying up late- it seems that bed time between 8:30 and 9 keeps him in bed until 7 or later...that was nice. He loved getting all the love and attention of granny and grandpa when they were home after work too- so it worked out nicely.
3. Sweet deals at the outlets. And I say "the" outlets because it is now official that there are no other outlets that can top the Folsom outlets. We always find the best deals at The Children's Place outlet there. For example; super-duper cute cargo shorts for my little man with an adjustable waist even for $2!! We have found shirts for $0.99 on numerous occasions as well. It's nuts. We also hit up some killer sales at Old Navy right now- $0.48 for a shirt, $1.50 for swim trunks...it was awesome. We even got out TWO boys matching sweaters for next Christmas :)
4.Brave little boy. Tyler decided he's not afraid of death anymore. He now lets go of the swing when he's at the highest point and leans back with a big, goofy, grin on his face. It's cute- and frightening. He has also decided that he likes the big-kid slides that are way too steep for my liking, and he likes going down them on his bum instead of on his tummy. He sure was proud of himself though.
5. Sweet moments. Tyler would always go look for grandpa in his room and announce himself with a very loud, "hi!" We loved it! I also learned it only took a little vacation from daddy for Tyler to remember how to say his name. Tyler is finally saying "daddy"...all the time. It is a sweet sound to hear :) One last sweet moment was watching my little boy run across the grass and kick up the leaves. Such a "hallmark" moment- but it was adorable. He was enjoying nature so much I almost felt guilty bringing him back to our desert landscaping. Our last morning there he even found a dandelion in the field and learned how to blow off the little, white, puffies. We spent the rest of our time at the park looking for more. I also loved watching Tyler enjoy a water show. It is so amazing to watch something through the eyes of a child. I'm trying to remember how sweet those things are and have a little more patience at home :) I love those moments!
6. Only wanting Granny. From the second he'd wake up from any nap or for the morning, Tyler was only excited to jump out of his crib to go find Granny. I think those two have a special bond... or could it just be the "treats"!!
We loved our time there and we are so excited to be back home with Daddy. We will be lucky to see Granny and grandpa in a few months when the new babies join the family. Thanks for all the fun :)

hitting the road
We are off to the great state of California. We will miss you all terribly. I am really, really hoping that Tyler's stuffy little nose makes it okay on the airplane. Let's hope we make it in one piece...and that Tyler feels better tomorrow so I don't want to pull my hair out before dealing with the airport scene.

my skinny giant
Just back from the pediatrician. Tyler's 18 mos. appointment (almost exactly one month late). Here's the latest...
34 1/2 in. tall (90th percentile)
23lb 8oz (10th percentile)
oops! I got a suspicious grilling since he's falling off his growth chart completely- but he eats all day, I promise. Tyler is still adorable and perfect in every way- and he'll be 19 months old tomorrow!!

Has it been a week again?!
Dear Blog,
Sorry for neglecting you. Tyler has been a little sick this week which kinda takes over everything. In a good light, I am really enjoying the last few months of being able to cuddle Tyler anytime, anywhere...even if it is multiple times at night :) I am excited to add another little Ryan to the family- but I am getting sentimental with my first little Ryan.
Tyler is being cuddly and needy...kinda cute, kinda obnoxious. To pass time we made some yummy breakfasts, lunches, and dinners (cause Tyler likes to cook). We have been playing on our new computer and starting to go through newborn clothes again to see what we have. Other than that, Tyler has been requesting movies by name...strange new habit, especially since he hardly ever sits to watch more than 5-10 minutes. His favorites right now are Cars, Wall-E, and Madagascar.
Tyler and I also got our act together and got stinky an 18 month appointment (now that he's 19months) with his old Dr. who's moving to this side of town- YAY! and I got myself an appointment with my new Dr. just a few miles down the street- double YAY! Crazy to think that it will have been over 2 months since my last appointment...but baby boy Crooks seems to be kicking and is definitely growing.
We are enjoying going crazy with potential work ideas for daddy since his job is kinda nasty. He is our hero for going to work even though everyone is bonkers right now and the manager is on a power trip. We love (and miss) him a lot. I'll scour the camera for some good pictures but we've been really lazy about taking pictures lately too.

The Belly
Almost 25 weeks...yes that's all. So far to go!Let the teasing begin! So, in my opinion, I am HUGE already compared to last time. I still forget that I'm pregnant, but apparently I am.
I really don't like the fatness of being pregnant but I know that I miss having pictures of being pregnant with Tyler, so I'm giving in this time around.

The New Year
There is a post in draft form, but it's not quite done yet. Here is the quick and dirty version of what has been going on.
Granny, Grandpa and Kyle left us last Saturday. Poor Tyler woke up to no friends, no tree, and no lights. He seems to be re-adjusting...finally.
We bought a new desktop...which can't read our camera card yet. AND our laptop CRASHED the next day...arg. Hence the lack of posting.
We celebrated New Year's Eve with just our little family. We enjoyed some Chinese food from a new place by our home. Tyler loved it. It was great food and a great tradition. We all decided to call it a night early since Ryan has been working so much overtime.
New Years day we hung out with the cousins in Henderson and walked around a few stores looking for a desk for the new computer. It was nice to have daddy home for a whole day in the middle of the week.
Since then, Tyler and I have been spending quality time just the two of us. We went to the park this week and he loved it. Tyler has started being a big tease too. He will come over to give you a kiss then say "nuh uh" at the last minute and turn away. He has also picked up a cute habit of pointing to where he wants his kisses. i.e. he'll point to his cheek or head or nose. He's a cute little bugger. Sure do love him!
So far the new year has been good- New Years Resolutions have yet to be set, but I'm sure the list will be long and detailed.
