Tyler is officially a one year old! His day yesterday was less than ideal, but we still squeezed in some fun. His big day started off being woken up for a Dr. appointment. We saw a different doctor than usual and we got new medicine for his ear infection- which was STILL there, and a prescription for his PINK EYE. What a way to start his day huh?! Needless to say, we postponed his birthday party. We didn't think going home with pink eye was a very good party favor. We are hoping to just push it back a week...we'll see how he heals up.
Can you just see how sick he is from his eyes...poor thing
After that Tyler was running to our realtor's office to sign a paper...that she still didn't have. So we headed to Wal Mart to drop off his prescriptions and head home for a nap. Tyler really is a trooper when it comes to being sick. He lights up for all the nurses and doctors. Sometimes it's a bad thing though because they don't believe me about how icky he is at home ;) He loves putting on a show though.
Our sweet boy took a three hour nap and then we had his lunch under his "Happy Birthday" sign. He ran some more errands with me, played at his Aunt Heather's for a few, picked up his new meds, and came home for his second nap of the day.
Enjoying "big boy bites" of banana...usually just enough to gag on
We made calzones for dinner and cupcakes for dessert...we never got to the cupcakes though. Ryan came home for dinner and we got to enjoy some time together. Tyler saw his presents on the table and pointed to them the whole time. After dinner we ran back to WalMart to pick up a prescription that wasn't right the first time we went. We came home and gave Tyler a bath because that always cheers him up :)
Sick eyes again...it was so sad to see him icky for so long. But he can still splash it up in the tub!
After Tyler was all neat and clean we squeezed a little fun out of him. He got a call from his Uncle Kyle as we were opening his presents. As expected, Tyler loved the paper just as much, if not more than the gifts. It was cute to see him get excited about opening gifts. I think he is starting to figure out what it means to get a present.
Talking to Uncle Kyle on the phone and playing with the tractor he got (because he chewed the tag off of it when we were walking around Target one day)
Tyler got a Tractor, a few small books, some wood puzzles, and a tool set. He has been loving puzzles lately...at least pulling them apart and playing with the pieces. He also loves balloons so we blew up two and let him chase them around the house. Unfortunately he was so wiped out at this point that we didn't even try the cupcake thing. He had many phone calls throughout the day to wish him happy birthday and lots of cards in the mail. Thank you to everyone for making his birthday as special as could be.
Ty and Dad figuring out his new tools and tossing around the paper :)
We are so blessed to have such a sweet boy in our lives. Ryan and I have had fun remembering what life was like a year ago and how excited we were then...and how much more excited we are now. Tyler has grown into a great little boy with a big personality. We can't wait to see what else is in store for this little boy's life.
We love you Tyler! Happy First Birthday!
